5 Things: Veterans Day and Free Public Transportation

1. The aftermath of an accident can mean multiple surgeries and months of recovery. Following the recent accident on Parmenter Street that sent one many to the hispital by helicopter, a family friend has started a fund to help support the family.

2. Many of us have amazing stories of family members who are veterans. We are asking you to share them today as a tribute to men and women who have served their country.

The weekly roundup of the emergency events from last week was a long one. Odds are if you missed one day of coverage last week you missed a report of some emergency activity. With attempted murder, a car chase and multiple fires both police and fire were very busy last week.

4. Taking public transit in the next two days? You can take advantage of the Food for Fare program put on by the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority. Bring a non-perishable canned or boxed food item with a value of $1.00 or more today or tomorrow and ride for free. The food will be donated to the United Way of Tri-County.
