I fall on the side of science, and consider this to be the result of the seeming fad in discounting science in favor of conspiracy and anecdote.
Some don't agree.
Stemming mainly from a disproven study from discredited UK researchers, the anti-vaccine movement has a cost in human terms. Though Measels is thankfully less dangerous than many epidemic diseases, refusal to vaccinate (particularly children, who are frequently carriers of many diseases as they tend to not take as many precautions and are in close contact in schools) causes outbreaks. Outbreaks cost money, illness, and in some cases, lives.
