Top 5 Holiday Concerts and Performances

There are many different instruments and voices nearby bringing you sounds of the season.

1. String and Jazz Holiday Music at Solomon Pond Mall: One of the many local, community musical groups at the Mall this holiday season. Marlborough High School  students will perform familiar string and jazz holiday pieces on Thursday, Dec. 8 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Solomon Pond Mall to entertain you while you shop. This is a free event.

2. Interboro Band Holiday Concert: This band of 50 musicians from Marlborough, Northborough, Southborough, Westborough and other communities consists of people of all ages from teens to seniors! Come hear their holiday program on Sunday, Dec. 11 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Trottier School, 49 Parkerville Rd., Southborough. There is no admission charge, but donations are appreciated!

3. Immaculate Conception Church Parish Choir Presents: "Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols."  Many Christian churches use this form of worship at Christmastime. Jesus' birth on Christmas Day is told in nine short readings from the Bible with Christmas carols and hymns. The Children's choir is joining the Parish choir for the event on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church. There is no charge for this event.

4. Yacyshyn Concert Series: "Syncopation" Holiday Concert at Library: The first stop on Syncopation's tour. This is an a cappella concert performing holiday music. Musicians are Aubrey Johnson, Christine Fawson, David Thorne Scott and Tsunenori "Lee" Abe. The concert takes place on Wednesday, Dec. 7 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Marlborough Public Library in the Bigelow Auditorium. This event is free.

5. Whitcomb School 7th and 8th Grade Winter Concert: You are bound to recognize many holiday favorites as the student orchestra, band and chorus perform. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Whitcomb School auditorium. There is no admission charge, but donations are accepted.
