Community Corner

Patch and Photography - Not content with with such limited content..

I'd like to field this one to Patch readers everywhere, in an effort to improve Patch for all-  in these days of cloud storage and SuperHD media, Patch as a method of sharing community-based media and local news doesn't cut it.  I've been a Patch contributor for several years, but over the last few, Patch made a decision:  unlike any other media outlet, Patch has decided that none of us care to view community photos in any resolution higher than is supported by a 2nd Gen iPhone.  Patch downprocesses all photos into terrible, blocky iPod "standard", a decision made in direct opposition to consumer demands.  Due to this, I spend much less time both reading and providing content for Patch.. and therefore the community doesn't get to see the fruits of their labors.  As the city's Parade and "Taste of Downtown" photographer, a photographer brought in to promote local theater productions, as well as many other things... I would like Patch readers to push back with me.  We as readers and content providers know that Patch can do better- when the decision was made to reduce the amount of the page dedicated to content and reduce the quality of content to unacceptable levels, Patch lost a lot of ground.  Patch, we as readers and content providers would like you be the community resource that you were even a few years ago- before you decided to downgrade to where we are now!
