OPINION: New Eatery Opens in Marlborough

Swing by Brauna Pizza to try their delicious subs and welcome them to the community.

There are two reasons why most folks probably have never heard of Brauna Pizza. The small eatery is tucked away in a tiny nondescript plaza on Boston Post Road West. Also, Brauna just opened its doors to the Marlborough community only two months ago. However, there are many reasons why residents should try this hidden gem.

If craving pizza, it could take months to eat your way through the 25 varieties of gourmet pizzas offered. And that does not even include traditional pizza options such as pepperoni, cheese or mushroom. While waiting on the main course, order a round of garlic bread, but be prepared. Rather than receiving a few small pieces of bread, what can only be a whole loaf of bread is served covered in melted butter and fresh garlic.

But don't be fooled by the name. The menu lists more hot and cold subs, pasta, salads and burgers than pizzas. Boasting fresh meatballs made from scratch, divulge in the hot meatball sub (the large will easily make two meals). Some might wish to try the homemade marinara sauce over pasta rather than in a sub. If this is the case, try the rich manicotti, which is served with a large piece of bread to help soak up the homemade sauce.

Although the eatery is small, there are a handful of tables available for those who wish to dine at Brauna. And on a peaceful fall day, a few tables are available outside. The only downside would be for those in a rush because the food did take some time to be prepared since everything is made to order. But this can easily be solved by calling your order in ahead of time. But then again, sometimes rich homemade Italian food is worth the wait.

Brauna Pizza is located at 505 Boston Post Road West. For orders over $10, Brauna does provide free delivery. Call 508-481-8885 to place orders.
