OPINION: Much More Than Pizza at Pleasant Pizza

Pleasant Pizza & Deli offers a large selection of both gourmet pizzas and sandwiches and wraps.

is inconspicuously tucked away in a plaza with Honey Farms, across the street from the . Sure, the pizza spot covers the basics found at most pizza joints, such as the spinach and feta calzone, meatball sub, meatlovers and veggie delight pizzas.

But Pleasant Pizza takes its cuisine several steps past the average buffalo wings. Mediterranean and hummus wraps, listed among an extensive gourmet sandwich selection, offer more healthy alternatives to a large pizza. An appetizer of grape leaves or a seafood salad and a generous helping of baklava for dessert put a refreshing twist on a routine pizza night.

The more than 15 varieties of gourmet pizzas offer a plethora of choices to satisfy most cravings. Try the new White Delight (sliced tomatoes, mushrooms and spinach crown white sauce and a blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheeses). The 10" small gourmet pizzas range in price from $7.25 - $8.50. And the large 16" pizzas range from $11.99 - $14.99. Although the crust was not overly impressive, the price is right and the overall taste is of fresh, quality ingredients.

The eatery does contain a small number of booths and tables for dining, but they also offer delivery for orders over $10. In order to avoid a wait during lunch time, the staff recommends calling in your order ahead of time.

Pleasant Pizza & Deli is located at 166 Pleasant St. Call 508-480-9090 to place your orders.

Their BBQ Chicken with Sliced Tomatoes Pizza is the best that I have found in the area. Their delivery time is great and the food arrives very hot and fresh.

I concur. This is a good place to get food. Hot, fresh, pleasant people, and fast delivery all equals a good experience.
