1. Digital Federal Credit Union based here in Marlborough has announced the advancement of several individuals in their organization, according to release on Boston.com. 

2. The Newton Country Players’ upcoming production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a beloved story about family and love featuring two real-life sets of siblings and three sets of children getting to take the stage alongside their parents, including Marlborough’s Paul, Julia, and Lauren Chamberlin. Paul Chamberlin plays Jacob, the father of the title character, who appears to have more of a connection with Joseph than his other sons, causing the rift that provides the framework for the musical. Julia and Lauren Chamberlin are in the children’s chorus. This is a play by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice with catchy music, including such well-known songs as “Any Dream Will Do” and “Close Every Door.” Groups of 10 or more can save $2 off the regular rates; groups of 20 or more will pay $15 a ticket. The performances will take place March 9 through 10 and March 16 through 18. The March 18 performance is at 2 p.m.; all other performances are at 8 p.m. All performances will take place at MassBay Community College in Wellesley Hills.

3.  recently announced the availability of the Herbert “Buster” MacLaren Nursing Scholarship. The MacLaren Nursing Scholarship is awarded annually to high school seniors and to those post-high school who are planning to or are currently pursuing a degree in the nursing field. The scholarship is open to residents of Berlin, Bolton, Hudson, Marlborough, Northborough, Southborough, Stow and Westborough. Those who are interested in learning more about the scholarship may contact their school’s Guidance Department or the Education Department of Marlborough Hospital, 508-486-5871 for information concerning the criteria for application. Applications must be received by March 31.

4. Marlborough resident and Salem Academy Charter lower school's head David Fischer has been named a finalist in the Peabody, MA superintendent search, said a Boston Globe article published Wednesday. 

5. Saturday Feb. 11, the Assabet Valley Booster Club will be sponsoring a Meat Raffle to raise funds to support the student athletes of the . The Meat Raffle will consist of 5 tables, each with a variety of packaged meats to be won. The various selections will contain an assortment of choice meats, from steaks, whole turkeys, beef and chicken kabobs, hams, chickens, and roasts, and even some surprises. Raffle tickets will be sold for each table, and drawings will begin with the selections on the first table, and on through the five tables until all packages have been won. Also happening during the Meat Raffle will be a Gift Basket Auction. Attendees may purchase raffle tickets and place them in the containers in front of the gift baskets and winners will be selected that night so that the lucky winners may take their prizes home with them that night. A concession stand will also be available with pretzels, popcorn, candy, coffee and soda for those attending to purchase. Admission to the event is free. If you have any questions email.
