5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 12

1. The income tax deadline this year is not the usual April 15 we've had drilled into our collective consciousness, but Tuesday, April 17, due to the prior date being a Sunday. Don't forget!

4. A big congratulations goes out to Kathya Acharya, who just won the lower school's annual speech competition. I had the pleasure of judging the finals Wednesday night along with Rep. Steven Levy and AMSA assistant principal Melani Galante. Acharya and seven other finalists from grades six through eight blew it out of the water! Also, thanks to English teacher Mark Vital () for coordinating the event.
