Editor's Note: the following obituary was provided by John P. Rowe Funeral Home. Calling hours for Bernadette T. LaFollette, of Marlborough, will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, and from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough.

Bernadette T. LaFollette, 15, of Marlborough, died Friday Dec. 6, 2013 at Boston Children's Hospital.

She leaves her parents, James O. and Ann V. (Tierney) LaFollette and her two brothers Joseph P. and Timothy R. LaFollette of Marlboroug. She also leaves her maternal grandparents Thomas and Maureen (Cronin) Tierney of Arlington and several aunts and uncles and cousins.

Bernadette was born in Framingham and was a sophomore at Marlborough High School where she was a member of the school marching band (drums), wind ensemble and drama program. She also was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church where she was an altar server and sang in the children's choir. She also was a member of the Marlborough Girl Scouts.

Bernadette was born with a significant heart defect but never let that deter her from anything she wanted to accomplish. Bernadette was a straight A student, played piano and percussion and was inducted into TriM, the musical honor society. She also enjoyed being part of the drama productions at Marlborough High and was an active member of the I.C. Parish.

Funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. from the John P. Rowe Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Marlborough with a Mass at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Boston Children's Hospital, attn: memo to read-Child Life Services - Bernadette, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115 or to Make-a-Wish, One Bullfinch Place, 2nd floor, Boston, MA 02114.
