Obituaries: Virginia Curtis Clark, Richard M. Ferro, June Maston Rougeau

The following residents or former residents of Marlborough have died in recent days.

Virginia Blair (Curtis) Clark, 96, passed away peacefully on Nov. 11, 2013. Born in Marlborough at home on February 16, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. Curtis, Jr. and Margaret C. (Blair) Curtis. Mrs. Clark graduated from Marlborough High School in 1934 and was the wife of Lewis F. Clark for 60 years up to his death in 1994.During high school she enjoyed acting in plays directed by local actor, Morton L. Stevens. In addition to Marlborough, Mrs. Clark lived for a number of years in Southborough and Northborough, as well as winters in Venice, Florida in recent time. During WW II, she worked for the Raytheon Company in Marlborough, assembling radar components, but otherwise remained a homemaker. Her hobbies included oil painting, gardening, reading and playing the piano, as well as ice skating and skiing in her younger years. Virginia was fond of dancing ever since taking lessons in her youth at the Wayside Inn, where she met carmaker Henry Ford, a folk dance enthusiast.

Richard MFerro, 70 of Marlborough, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013 after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Christine (Clark) Ferro, with whom he shared 44 wonderful years. 
Dick, as he was known by all, was born in Quincy, the son of the late Mario and Rose (Ferrazzi) Ferro of Marlborough. He was raised in Marlborough and graduated from Marlborough High School in 1962. He attended Suffolk University, Boston and served in the Massachusetts National Guard. He was also a longtime member of the American Legion. He was the proud father of three children, Stacy Slattery and her husband John of Kingston, MA, Julie Eagan and her husband Peter of Tiverton, RI, and Paul Ferro of Marlborough.
Dick followed in his father's footsteps working in the construction industry. He was a skilled and admired craftsman. He started in the home building business with his father Mario, of Ferro and Son Construction later owning his own company, Ferro Construction Company for 25 years before retiring.

June (MastonRougeau, of Southborough, formerly of Marlborough, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013. Born in Ayer, she was the daughter of the late Winafred and Mercedes (Millett) and the wife of Edward H. Rougeau. Mrs.Rougeau had been employed at the former Yankee Gift House, Marlborough, as a sales associate. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and the consummate lady. 
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Kathie J. Lilley of Hudson, MA, her step- daughters, Annette Spaulding of Rockingham, VT, Janet Queen of West Unity, NH, and June Aleck of Rangeley, ME , 9 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren.
