Obituaries: Katherine Brodeur, 89, and Lisa Verrier, 47.

The following residents of Marlborough have died in recent days.

Katherine A. “Honey” (Bliss) Brodeur, 89, of Marlborough, died Sunday, Oct. 20, at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center with her family by her side. Her husband, Henry J. Brodeur died in 2000. She was born, raised and educated in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Charles A. and Alice M. (Mulhall) Bliss and was a graduate of Marlborough High School, Class of 1943. She was telephone operator for New England Telephone & Telegraph for 34½ years, retiring in 1977, and during that time had the pleasure of speaking to many famous people, including JFK, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Marilyn Monroe, and Jimmy Durante. Honey was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church, Pioneers of America and a former member of the Ackroyd Houde American Legion Auxiliary #132.

Lisa TVerrier, 47, of Marlborough, died peacefully on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 after battling complications of lung cancer surgery for three weeks. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Gloria (Ceraulo) Verrier. 
Although born with many challengers as a result of Down syndrome, Lisa had many blessings as well. She had both a biological family and an adopted "family" at her Liberty Street group home, managed by GMPI. She loved and was loved by both. 
Lisa loved life and packed a lot of living into her 47 years. Her many interests included travel, cooking, baking, music, crafts and Zumba.
