A longtime editor and publisher of the Shrewsbury Voice, Mary was a talented writer and columnist known for her sharp wit and keen observations. Starting as a local reporter, Mary rose through the ranks of the Voice to lead the newspaper as publisher.

WestboroughMarie T. Boire, 76, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at home. She was the wife of Gabriel Boire.

Marie was employed as a medical secretary at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester prior to her retirement.

MarlboroughH. Jeannette Pollard, 85, of Marlborough, died Saturday, January 26, 2013 at her home, following a period of declining health.

A lifelong student of languages, history and geneology, Jeannette had been employed for many years as a bi-lingual teacher for the Boston Public School System.

Westborough — Albert J. McMahon, 89, of Westborough, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center.

He was educated in Westborough schools and was a 1941 graduate of Westborough High School where he earned many an Athletic Awards and was inducted into the Westborough High School Hall of Fame. Albert was also elected president of his senior class. He went on to play semi-pro football for many years in Westborough, playing their home games at the Bay State Field.

WorcesterScott M. Cameron, 43, of Johnson, Vermont, formerly of Worcester, died on January 25, 2013.

He was formerly employed as a truck driver and has lived in Vermont for many years.

WestboroughBarbara A. O’Neil–Bush, 82, of Westborough, died peacefully on Sunday, January 27, 2013, surrounded by members of her large and loving family.

Early in her career, Barbara worked at the Westborough State Hospital, but her true calling was raising a large, happy family, and serving her Westborough community.

ShrewsburyFrancis J. Sweeney, 86, of Shrewsbury died Saturday, January 26, 2013 in Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an illness.

He entered in the United States Navy serving during W.W. II. He later continued his education and was a proud member of the Class of 1950 from the College of the Holy Cross.
