Parkhurst was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. From 1943 through 1945, he served as a commissioned officer, first commanding PT 566, a motor torpedo boat in MTB Ron 29 assigned to the Mediterranean, and then in MTB Ron 12 assigned to the Southwest Pacific and based out of the Philippines. Squadron 12 was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for action in New Guinea from October 1943 to March 1944.

WestboroughGary E. Tenczar, 69, of Westborough, died on Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.

Gary was employed as the Purchasing Director for Wyman-Gordon for over 25 years prior to his retirement.

A firefighter for the City of Newton for 38 years, prior to his retirement in January 1987, he was stationed in Auburndale on Engine 5 and later as the dispatcher at headquarters in Newton.

MarlboroughSister Laurette Germain, known in religion as Sister Mary Catherine Tekakwitha, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 at Marie Esther Health Center.

Germain taught in schools staffed by the Sisters of St. Anne, in Holyoke and Worcester, where she taught at Holy Name Central Catholic High.

WestboroughWilliam F. Colby, Sr., 82, of Westborough, died on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital.

Colby was employed as Chief Engineer for United Electric Controls in Watertown prior to his retirement.

NorthboroughLyn J. (Rosenbusch) West, 33, died January 25, 2013 in UMass/Memorial Healthcare (University Campus) in Worcester.

Lyn was employed as a Human Resource Manager at Creative Play Things in Framingham for the past seven years. She loved to sing and enjoyed spending time with her friends.

WestboroughBeverly A. (Harris) Differ, 77 years, of Westborough, formerly of Brookline, died on Friday, January 25, 2013.
