ShrewsburyMary V. (Robbins) Smith, a longtime local resident died peacefully on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Autumn Village, Worcester, where she has made her home for the past several years. She was 94 years old.

Along with her husband, Mary enjoyed archery for many years, and was a New England Champion in 1958.

Dr. Hight was a graduate of Harvard College and Boston University. He lectured and taught at various colleges and universities including Tufts College, Boston University, WPI and Clark University. He served the Town of Northborough as Chair of the Earth Removal Board for many years.

MarlboroughCatherine M. (Carolan) Berthiaume, 56, of Shrewsbury, died Monday, January 14, 2013 as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Auburn.

Cathy has lovingly cared for her daughter Sarabeth since her birth as a stay at home mother. She was a member of Saint Anne’ Parish in Shrewsbury.

NorthboroughLois E. (Woodcock) Jones, 87, died on January 20, 2013, on the 12th anniversary of her late husband, Leroy Jones’ death.

Mrs. Jones devoted her life to her family. She was always in attendance for family activities and sporting events. Lois had an open-door policy for everyone at any time and her home was the gathering place of family reunions for many years.

WestboroughRoselyn C. “Sis” O’Neil, 94, of Westborough, died peacefully on Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Westborough with loved ones and devoted staff by her side.

She was educated in Westborough schools and was the valedictorian of her graduating class. She was also a graduate of the South Middlesex Secretarial School in Framingham.

MarlboroughVirginia (Jinny) L. (Jenkins) Gauthier Martinangelo, 96, formerly of Marlborough died Monday morning, January 14th, after a long period of failing health.

Virginia was employed as a secretary for the Marlborough Public School system, working at  Mitchell, Kane and the Middle School  until her retirement in 1984. She was a long time member of the Colonial Garden Club of Marlborough of which she proudly served as president from 1977-1979.

MarlboroughCarlos H. Santos died on Tuesday January 15, 2013 at the age of 33.

MarlboroughSuzanne (Faucher) Sullivan, 87, of Marlborough, died Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Hearthstone at New Horizons.

Suzanne began her working career as a lab technician for the blood bank in the Worcester area during the war years. After the early years of raising her children, she returned to work at varied positions in the greater Marlborough area until settling into a long tenure with the city of Marlborough.

ShrewsburyPauline J. (Leroux) St. Amand, 86, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Worcester died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an illness.

Pauline was born in Barton, Vermont, the youngest of fourteen children to the late Emile and Aldea (Menard) Leroux. She was educated in Vermont, before moving to Massachusetts.

WestboroughCarol S. Taylor, 89, of Westborough, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013 at home.

During WW II she served with the U. S. Navy attaining the rank of Specialist First Class.

MarlboroughRoland P. Ward, 88, of Marlborough died Monday evening at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Ward worked for the former General Motors in Framingham for 38 years as a product foreman, scheduling supervisor and quality control supervisor until his retirement in 1985.

NorthboroughArthur F. Bryant, 89, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Blaire House of Worcester.

He was a firefighter for the city of Waltham, retiring in 1977. Mr. Bryant enjoyed landscaping and gardening. Arthur proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

MarlboroughDiane M. Fronczak, 61, died Wednesday Jan. 16 after a long period of failing health.

Diane was a dog lover and spent much of her time breeding and raising Highland White Terriers. She entered her dogs in many dog shows, winning many "best of breed" awards and winning many match shows including the New York Specialty Show.

NorthboroughVirginia A. (Mungeam) Wheeler died peacefully on January 18, 2013 in Marlboro Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Wheeler graduated from Hudson High School in 1948. Her memberships include: a lifelong member of First Parish Church of Berlin, Berlin Grange and Berlin Worcester County Extension Group.

MarlboroughTeophile J." Tiff" Correia, 88, of Marlborough, MA, died Sunday, January 20,2013 at his home surrounded by his family.

Following his graduation from Hudson High School in 1943, he enlisted in the US Army serving as a Medic. He retired in 1991, after 42 years of employment at the former General Motors Plant in Framingham, where he had been the supervisor of the paint department.

NorthboroughWalter K. Hall died peacefully in Westborough, MA on January 18, 2013.

As an eighteen year old freshman at Boston College, he broke the world’s record in the 45 yard high hurdles. In the Coast Guard, he was put in charge of constructing the then top secret LORAN radio towers along both coasts of the United States. He was overseas in the Philippine Islands when WWII ended in 1945.
