Death Notices: Illness Takes Marlborough Native Sal Fabens at 47

Sal Fabens, 47, of Alexandria, VA and a native of Marlborough, died after a brief illness Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2011 at home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson. Sal will be laid to rest at a later date in Harmony Grove Cemetery in Salem, her family’s resting place, at the convenience of family and friends. There will be no calling hours.

Richard J. Patulak, of Oakland Park, FL and formerly of Marlborough, died Dec. 22, 2011 at his home. A memorial mass will be held at the , Jan. 16 at 11 a.m.

Julie J. Shepherd, 46, of Marlborough, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital following an illness of several months. Memorial services were held Saturday, Jan. 7, at noon at the Martha-Mary Chapel of Longfellows Wayside Inn, Wayside Inn Road (Rt.20), Sudbury. The Reverend Barbara Williamson, Rector of St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church, Sudbury officiated.

Carole Sue (Nicholls) Ricciuti, 74, of Marlborough, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m. at St. Matthias Church. Visiting hrs.will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc.

Hope J. Rickman, 63, of Marlborough and formerly of Acton, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at . A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, 10 a.m., at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, 1 Morse Rd., Sudbury. Burial with military honors will follow in Old Town Cemetery, Concord Road, Sudbury. There will be no calling hours.

Thomas M. Stanhope, 87, of Marlborough, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2012 at . A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 13, at 10 a.m. at St. Matthias Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Jan. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc.
