Dr. Seuss Visits the Transfer Station

The Marlborough Transfer Station hosted the cat cast of 'Seussical' - and the kittens are up for adoption!

Can you imagine a more Seussian worlds?  Tall open trailer bins, filled with bottles, or cans, or flattened corrugated board in stacks.  In one area, dark bags filled with mysterious contents - that's the world the transfer station kittens came from.

Our rescue received a call about a momcat and 6 kittens a couple weeks back.  Two volunteers in cooperation with the transfer station folks, set traps, and captured them all.  The black momcat is feral, so she was spayed and vaccinated, and now presides over the transfer station, keeping the rodent population down.  She keeps her distance, but if you see a cat with her left ear 'tipped', you know it's her!  The 6 kittens were all taken in, tamed, and are up for adoption.

The kittens have names from "Seussical", which will be performed August 5 and 6 by the River's Edge Community Players (www.upwitharts.org). I'm playing a Who, my husband Mark is the Grinch, and daughter Marcelle is a Bird Girl.  (With the support of our director, Sarah Worrest, an adoptable cat usually makes a cameo in these summer shows!)
