Adapted by Sylvia Ashby, directed by Boxborough resident Janet Tyndall, and stage managed by Alex Reid from Westford, this family-friendly play has been charming audiences around the world. Stern Marilla and her warm-hearted brother Matthew hope to adopt a boy to work on their farm. But the orphanage sends young, be-freckled Anne by mistake, and their lives will never be the same. Her warmth and wit affects everyone around her -- even, eventually, the cold Marilla. We follow Anne through her rebellious years, her transformation into a young woman, and her romantic pairing with Gilbert. Made up of a cast of teens as well as adults, this production will bring laughter as well as tears as the audience shares the story of this unconventional girl.

The cast of the show also includes Victoria Bourque (Littleton), Kevin Dibble (Westford), Tara Earl (Westford), Bill Hoermann (Acton), Elizabeth Hoermann (Acton), Andrew Keir (Lunenburg), Larry Lickteig (Groton), Roman Meneghini (Groton), Leah Robinson (Ayer), Laura Steele (Hopkinton), Allison Takacs (Acton) and Joanne Wood.

The Cannon Theatre is a small, intimate non-profit 501(c)(3) black-box style theatre.  Their season includes a fall classic, a children's musical, a spring comedy, a musical, and one children's production during the summer.  They offer voice lessons, and they also provide improvisational workshops several times a year.  For additional information about the theater, email scannon@thecannontheatre.org or call 978-456-0060.
