A Fund for Sasha, a Boxer Rescue Undergoing Breast Cancer Surgery

A Marlborough woman active in boxer rescues has created a GoFundMe page for Sasha.

Sasha is a Boxer rescue who has some serious medical problems that will need to be corrected with surgery. She recently was diagnosed with the canine form of breast cancer, but the veterinarian at the Tufts Veterinary center has told her foster parent that she should make a complete recovery, according to a post on the public funding site, GoFundMe.

The account created for Sasha hopes to raise $3,500 to cover her veterinarian expenses and related after-care. Fund creator Aimee Blair Federico of Marlborough said the dog has a sweet disposition and should rebound. "She's a beautiful boxer with the sweetest, most loving disposition and absolutely deserves a chance at a long, healthy life," Federico wrote.

So far, about half of the funds needed have been raised by contributors. The surgery is scheduled for Wednesday.
