Oktoberfest in Hopedale 2013

On the shores of Hopedale Pond, in and around the Little Red Shop Museum, Cost is free, with free parking. Rain date: Oct. 6. Special guests: include Herbie The Love Bug from the 2005 movie Herbie Fully Loaded, the 3rd annual Volkswagen Car Show and the authentic Wells Fargo Stagecoach. Events include costume contest, 15 live bands, a new Family Fun area including Bright Beginnings’ balloon man, a "chowdah" festival, art exhibit and sale and tethered hot air balloon rides, the Lions Club will supply the Eyemobile providing free eye and healthcare checkups to all families. Model airplane demonstrations and a 70-foot model train exhibit will be on display at Atria Place, a professional whiffle ball exhibition and clinic, to a fine art show and sale in the Bancroft Memorial Library, along with vendors selling food, crafts, jewelry, pet goods suppliers, leather, antiques and more. Wally the Green Monster from the Boston Red Sox and characters from the Milford Performing Arts, Sparky the fire dog, bounce houses, hay rides, pony rides and a petting zoo.
