Funeral services for Shawn Joseph Landry

Shawn Joseph Landry, age 6, died unexpectedly September 24, 2013 at his Hudson home.  The beloved son of Joseph and Erica (Tierney) Landry, Shawn is also survived by his loving family: his brothers, Christopher and Timothy; his sister Kimberly; grandmothers Carol Tierney and Marie Landry; and uncles Douglas Tierney Jr., and Leo Jr., Edward and Steve Landry. He was the grandson of the late Douglas Tierney Sr. and Leo Landry Sr.

The Landry family made it a point to involve Shawn in all their activities, and they especially loved his bright smile.  Shawn joined them camping in Templeton every weekend throughout the summers, enjoying campfires and toasting marshmallow.  Backyard fun included floating in the pool, lawn bowling or a spin on the family ice/deck hockey rink.  A highlight was the family's 5200 mile road trip up and down the U.S. East Coast with a stop Disney World, where Shawn enjoyed the fireworks. He also recently visited the "Touch a Ray Tank" at the NE Aquarium, and he was a big fan of the Boston Bruins.

Shawn formerly attended the Assabet Collaborative in Boylston, and was currently enrolled at Seven Hills Foundation in Groton.  His family is most appreciative of the support provided by the schools and their staff, as well as the The Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center, Children's Hospital in Boston and all those involved with Shawn's care.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sunday, Sept.29th from 1:00-5:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton.  The funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, September 30th at 9:00am in St. Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson.  Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, 278 Cox Street, Hudson.  In lieu of flowers,  memorial gifts may be made in Shawn's name to the The Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center, 112 Main Street, Hopkinton, MA 01748; also online at http://www.hopkintonrespite.com
