"A Gig for Scott". To Celebrate the Life and Music of Scott Ricciuti

A Gig for Scott

To Celebrate the Life and music of Scott Ricciuti

On Saturday, September 14th, 2013 Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation, Dollars for Scholars will hold it’s annual motorcycle ride in memory of Scott Ricciuti.  Scott was a well-known local musician who was killed in April, 2012 in a motor vehicle accident.  A young,

vibrant life cut short far too early and with no time for friends, family and admirers to say

good by.

Scott was a singer and guitarist and a very prolific song writer, sometimes writing three songs in a day.  He loved music and those who played it.  And he was always very supportive of other musicians.  Scott was a very well know presence in the Worcester music scene.

Ricciuti began his career with his original band Childhood with his friend Ken Ebell.  In the late 90”s he formed the pop trio Huck with great success and in recent years continued to play with the band.  He also assembled and recorded with a roots country-tinged act Pistol Whipped and in recent years played in the backing band for Shana Morrison (Van Morrison’s daughter), and was often performing solo since becoming a full-time musician.

CSF thought it fitting to honor Scott’s memory with this motor cycle fundraiser ride raising funds specifically to help fledging musicians in their quest for additional education and training by providing a scholarship award in Scott’s name at next year’s Award Night.

Many of Scott’s former friends and band mates have already agreed to attend and to treat everyone to remembrances of Ricciuti through his music.  Scheduled to play at the event areAngry Tony and the Home Wreckers with musicians, Pat Hogan, Billy Clair and Tony Kahbir;

A combination of the bands, Childhood, (with Kenny Ebell, Dan Lucas and Dave Bellenoit); the band Huck , (Paul Dagnello) and with Michael Thibodeau and John Donovan sprinkled in with

a few songs of their own.

We hope that many of Scott’s family, friends, fellow musicians old classmates (class of 1981 from Marlborough High Schol will attend the event.  If not to ride, but to attend the lunch and festivities, which will begin at 12:30.  The cost is $10.00.  For additional information about CSF and the motorcycle call Deb Giroux at 508-481-0056.
