5 Things: Senate Candidate Visits Marlborough

From Gabriel Gomez visiting Marlborough to a fire that foiled a fundraiser; we have the news you need today.

1. Staff and students at Assabet Valley Regional Vocational High School had a surprise visit from Gabriel Gomez, candidate for U.S.Senate, recently.
“He wanted to see a technical high school in action, so I didn’t alert the staff that he would be coming for a tour. I wanted him to see a regular day, with regular activities,” said Principal Mark Hollick. “We were able to showcase about ten of our seventeen technical programs in the allotted time ... it was fun to see the light of recognition dawn in the students when he introduced himself to them."

2. Three Preschool Students have read 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten and discussions will happen tonight at the School Committee meeting to establish a proper way to commend the students and their families.
