Marlborough Hospital Opens Spine Center

Hospital adds new doctor for Spine Center.

Editor's Note: The following information was submitted by the Marlborough Hospital.

Marlborough Hospital, in partnership with the UMass Memorial Medical Center, has again expanded its musculoskeletal services with the opening of a new Spine Center at the hospital. In addition to joint replacement, knee and shoulder surgery, fracture care and sports medicine, Marlborough Hospital is now home to a new Spine Center offering minimally invasive care and injection therapy for patients with pain and non-operative issues. To facilitate this growth, Marlborough Hospital welcomes Robert Deters, MD, a physiatrist, to its medical staff. Physiatrists diagnose and treat both acute pain and chronic pain and specialize in a wide variety of nonsurgical treatments for the musculoskeletal system.

Dr. Deters is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and is a member of the Department of Orthopedics and Physical Rehabilitation and the Spine Center at the UMass Memorial Health Care Musculoskeletal Center of Excellence. He received his medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine, Dayton, OH, and completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh, St. Francis Medical Center. His clinical interests include electrodiagnostic medicine and pain management.
