POLL: Trouble Gardening?

How have your plants been coping with the wild weather this summer?

Mother nature has given a difficult time to those looking to make summer plans with terribly humid weather and recent torrential downpours. Plants have also been similarly affected by the odd weather.

I was recently contacted by one of our readers, Bonnie, who has not had any luck with her tomato plants. We were both wondering if anyone else has had issues with their plants this summer.

We got a plot at the community garden. It's our first time with it, other than pots on the porch. There seem to be tons of stuff thriving there! Some of our plants didn't make it, but right now we have 2 pumpkins growing, red peppers, and about 7 cantaloupes! and a bunch of carrots. For our first time, we feel this is really good! bought some organic plant food at Trombettas when the leaves started to yellow, and now they look great!

I have a hydrangea that I call my dehydrangea, because I can't seem to keep it properly hydrated. I bought some Miracle Grow but have yet to use it. I suppose that's a key part of the gardening process, right? Actually use what you've bought to feed your plants. :-)
