5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 9

The story with the Marlborough Public Schools continues to develop, and today's column has a list of the five most-requested items at the library this week.

4. Here are the five most-requested items at the  this week: 1. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins; 2. Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James; 3. The Descendants (DVD); 4. Game of Thrones: The Complete First Season (DVD); 5. War Horse (DVD).

5. Applications are now available for area college students to apply for a paid internship with the . In order to apply, students will need to do the following: 1. Complete the Public Service Internship Application (attached to the column as a PDF); 2. Provide a copy of your license or photo or student ID; 3. Enclose with your application an official/unofficial copy of your most recent college transcript; 4. Submit a written essay (one page, typed, 400 words max) explaining why you want to intern and why you think it will benefit you. Completed applications may be dropped off to the Mayor’s office or delivered to: City of Marlborough, Public Service Internship Program, City Hall, 4th Fl., Marlborough, MA 01752. The deadline is 5 p.m. on May 25.
