5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 8

Gov. Deval Patrick stopped in Marlborough the other day, and the Vin Bin will hosting a great, free event this weekend.

1. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick visited Marlborough Tuesday afternoon to highlight the expansion of the clean energy company SolarCity. The company plans to add 25 jobs at the Marlborough facility in the coming months.

5. The will host a free food and wine event at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 12, with New England businesses—American Mussel Harvesters, Element Brewing Co. and 90+ Cellars. Patrons will enjoy a raw bar featuring clams, mussels and oysters on the half shell while appreciating select 90+ Cellar wines and Element beers, said a release. In addition, barbecue steak sandwiches and artisanal cheeses will also be cooked up.
