5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 19

Marlborough has seen the death of a young resident in recent days, and there is still time to vote for your favorite cup of coffee in town.

2. The  has begun a citywide street sweeping program that will run for 10 to 12 weeks, Monday through Friday from approximately 4 a.m. to late evenings depending on the neighborhood. The sweeping commenced in Fort Meadow area and will work systematically throughout the city. This program tries to lessen the amount of infiltration into the storm drainage system which eventually ends up in our reservoirs, said a statement on the city's Facebook page.

5. The mayor's office announced Friday that "Project Clean Sweep" will take place at 9 a.m., Saturday, April 28 at the . Volunteers will obtain work assignments, supplies and materials at this location. Extra clean-up items such as gloves are appreciated. Trash bags and “Project Clean Sweep” t-shirts will be provided.
