Christmas Eve Without Your Kids? Try These Dad-Themed Movies

If you are recently divorced or separated, Christmas Eve can be one of the most difficult nights of the year.
Let's be honest, Christmas Eve and Christmas mornings are some of the best days to be a dad. there is nothing like seeing the wonder in the eyes of your son and daughter as they open their presents on Christmas morning. And, of course, there is their excitement the night before that makes it tough to get them to go to sleep.
But in the wake of a divorce, the holidays can prove very difficult for dads, who can find themselves in a very vulnerable place emotionally.
Some dads react in all the wrong ways. Some drink or do drugs, some go to a bar to try and pick up a woman or go to a strip club, all in an attempt to dull or mask the pain.
In my situation, I couldn't bring myself to get a Christmas Tree or decorate my home and I drank at home Christmas Eve. It did absolutely nothing to improve my mood.
But there's a better option. While missing your kids, put your focus on how much you love being a dad. Put yourself in full dad mode.
Along those lines, might I suggest the following movie marathon for Christmas Eve. These movies will get you totally psyched up to see your children over the holidays and put you in the mood to be the best dad you can be!

The Santa Clause (1994)

Love, Actually (2003)

Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)

Liar, Liar (1997)

A Merry and a Blessed Christmas to all of you, and a very Happy New Year!!!
