School Vacation Week Savings in Marlborough and Beyond

This week I found free activities for kids and teens at the Marlborough Public Library, a Plaster Fun Time coupon and a New Years eve event at Sea Dog Steak and Ale.

 1. Check out these cool (and free) activities the  this week: Teen movie night on Wednesday, Dec. 28 from 6-8 p.m. Bring your friends, vote for one of three movies, and enjoy a movie and popcorn. There will be an Apples to Apples Tournament for grades 7 through 12 Thursday, Dec. 29 from 3 to 5 p.m. If you've been waiting to play this fabulous game on a grand scale, here is your chance! There will also be a raffle for three random prizes. Younger kids can enjoy a drop-in movie Thursday, Dec. 29th from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and a drop-in craft Friday, Dec. 30 from 10 a.m. to noon. Visit the library event calendar or call 508-624-6902 for more information.

2. Plaster Fun Time coupon: Buy 2 get one free! My kids always enjoy creating masterpieces at Plaster Fun Time, and until Jan. 2, 2012 you can buy 2 pieces and get one free. Join their e-club to learn about this and future offers. Located at 1239 Worcester Rd. (Rt. 9 near Temple Street) in Framingham.

3. Enjoy New Years Eve at Sea Dog Steak and Ale in Northborough: Enjoy a three-course meal for $37 per person. After dinner, stay for drinks to ring in the New Year. Enjoy complimentary passed appetizers and party favors at the bar after 10 p.m. There will also be special pricing for select reserved wines. For information about this event and to book your reservation call (508) 466-8531.  Sea Dog Steak and Ale is located at 318 Boston Post Rd. (Rt. 20), just over the Marlborough line.

Frugal Shopping: Have you tried SavingStar? It's a great way to get an extra kick-back when you shop. If you have an iPhone or Android, you can use their application, otherwise go to their website. Create an account, link your grocery loyalty cards, like ,  or Wegmans, or your Extra Care Card, and activate your email account. From your computer or phone, activate coupons and they will be linked to your loyalty cards. When you make your purchase, in addition to using your regular coupons, scan your grocery cards and the SavingStar coupons will be used. In a few days funds will be transferred to your SavingStar account. Once the funds are in the account, you can choose to transfer them to Paypal, your bank account, or get an Amazon gift card. I chose Amazon because we're big readers. Give it a try! Thanks to Heather for telling me about this cool application.

Please refer to the merchants directly for offer terms and conditions, and have a safe and happy New Years Eve!
