New Restaurant on Mechanic Street

A new restaurant serving an array of dishes is set to open on Mechanic Street.

The Arara restaurant is set to open soon on Mechanic Street, according to Board of Health officials.

“They have everything they really need," said Robert Landry, the administrator for the Board of Health. “It’s in good shape.”

The business will sell Brazilian, Spanish and American dishes, he said of the restaurant named after a Brazilian bird similar to a parrot. One of the women who will be running the restaurant has experience in the food industry, he said, and they already have their serve safe and allergy training.

The location used to house Burt's Lounge and is at the corner of Mechanic and Lincoln Street.

How many restaurants are gong to have a go at that spot? The area needs to be cleaned up so businesses can succeed there!

The outside of the building needs to be redone. The place can be spotless inside but all I can think of when I drive by is rats and cockroaches.

Some are only lasting a few weeks. There is NO place to park a car.

Well, the outside impression has nothing to do with inside. On my opinion inside is clean, comfortable and the food is delicious. The reason why I am saying it is because I went there last week. Rose Pellitier
