Lake Williams Pizza Voted Best in Marlborough

This pizza restaurant has been in the same Marlborough location for 30 years.

Whether it's Greek-style or Brazilian pizza, a sub, rice and beans, salad, meat stew, pasta or a steak sandwich, Lake Williams Pizza has something for everyone, and .

Eduardo "Eddie" Braga came to the United States from Brazil 12 years ago and is the shop's current owner.

"John was the first owner," said Braga, "I worked for him doing deliveries and then I bought the shop in 2007."

Braga explains that the number one seller of all of his pizzas is a Brazilian pizza called Chicken with Catupiry. Catupiry is a spreadable cream cheese.

"I just hung up with an order for another one!" Braga said.

One of the other favorites is the shop's house salad dressing. Lake Williams' original owner is of Lebanese descent and claims the secret (and Scottish) family recipe for the dressing. So, this pizza shop has roots all over the world! Braga adds that everything tastes so good because of the fresh ingredients.

Over the course of the fall, Marlborough Patch asked readers to weigh in on who they thought made the best pizza in Marlborough, and Braga and company won with 106 of the 579 votes cast. Post Road Pizza was a close second earning 94 votes in the field of 22 local businesses.

"Everything is homemade. The dough, the sauce, the desserts...," said Braga as he shook some oregano onto the chicken with catupiry pizza as it is just about ready to go into the oven, "and all of the Brazilian pizzas have oregano."
