Great Coupons are Only a Mouse Click Away

Here is a list of deals available to you locally this week.

Do you clip coupons but find it hard to keep track of them all? I used to, but now I use one of the many coupon database websites to look up and print coupons or find savings codes for online shopping. Before I head out to the mall or grocery store, I always visit a coupon database to print coupons and make sure I have a good plan.

Go to the websites and search for coupons. Sign up to receive email updates.  Many of the sites have regularly updated Facebook pages and Twitter accounts.  Please carefully read the terms and conditions for the offer. You might need to download “applets” or little computer programs which need to be run on your computer before you can print your coupons, or sign up for a program to use the coupon.

1. Retailmenot.com has a nice database of online codes for many online retailers and printable coupons to some local retailers, including JC Penney, Bath and Body Works, and Borders. Search for the retailer, see their current coupon or code and also see the success rate of the coupon or code.

2. Mommysavesbig.com is another great coupon database site with a nice, easy-to-read front page.  Search for printable retail and grocery coupons, online codes, and deals. If you can find what you looking for, post a question at “Help Me Find a Deal.”

3. Whofish.com has coupons for local businesses such as Friendly’s, Aeropostale, and Payless Shoes. Sign up for the Daily Catch to get email notifications about local deals, such as reduced-price gift certificates to the Butterfly Place in Westford.

4. Coupon Pro has pointers to coupons, “freebies”, and samples.  Coupon Pro regularly posts coupons on Facebook and you can find links to grocery coupons and deals right on their Facebook page.

5.  Supermarkets’ new web site has printable coupons as well as some nice shopping and savings tools.   Create a profile here. Build your shopping list from sale items from the weekly flyer, search store brands, or filter out products that have allergens like dairy, peanuts or gluten. Browse through recipes and easily add recipe ingredients to your shopping list.  Order myHannaford barcode stickers that can be used at the register to receive periodic coupons.

Print the shopping list or email the link to your Smartphone, as I did.  The cashier scanned my barcode sticker during checkout and I received a money-saving coupon to use during my next visit.
