Gas Prices Jump 17 Cents, Average $3.30

The current price is six cents below the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.36. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $2.64.

The impact of high oil prices is clearly being seen at the pumps, as gasoline prices in Massachusetts are up an average of 17 cents over last week, according to AAA Southern New England. 

AAA’s Feb. 28 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.309 per gallon, up 17 cents from last week and 24 cents from the start of the year.

The current price is six cents below the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.36.

A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $2.64.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 35 cents, from a low of $3.14 to a high of $3.49. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
