Cat Food Donated to Local Pantries by Shelter

The MetroWest Humane Society donates cat food, and it seeks volunteers and public donations.

Local families struggling to feed their pets received welcome help last year from theMetroWest Humane Society (MWHS). Through their 3-year-old Community Outreach Program, MWHS donated more than 1,300 pounds of dry cat food to local food pantries to help those needing assistance with feeding their cats.

"Yes, there are foreclosures and a lack of jobs, but the residents in the MetroWest area have been extremely generous with food donations to MWHS, which in turn enables us to enhance our services to the community,” said Jackie Walters, MWHS Shelter Manager.

Currently, food packets are available at the following locations:
•        SMOC MetroWest Harvest Food Pantry in Framingham
•        The Senior Center in Ashland
•        Holliston Food Pantry in Holliston
•        St. Bridget's Catholic Church Food Pantry in Framingham
