5 Things You Need To Know Today: April 15

Here is a list of things going on in and around Marlborough today.

1. Skies should be bright and sunny today, but the National Weather Service says is will be a bit cooler with a high in the low 50s. 

2. There will be a lunch meeting at the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce today with Kathleen Goneau, business coach and team leader at Keller Williams Realty, speaking on "The Client Acquisition Cycle: How and Where to Find Clients for Life." Bring your own lunch and meet at the Chamber, 11 Florence St., at 11:30 a.m. The presentation will begin at 12 p.m. Cost is $15 per person. To register, call the Chamber at 508-485-7746.

3. Plan to attend now: Elizabeth Benedict, a highly regarded novelist, journalist, teacher of creative writing, editor, and writing coach. has published five acclaimed novels, a classic book on writing fiction, and hundreds of reviews, essays, and magazine articles. She is the editor of the upcoming anthology, "Mentors, Muses & Monsters: 30 Writers on the People Who Changed Their Lives," and speak at the Wednesday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m.

4. Patch released an iPhone App yesterday! It is pretty cool, and currently available for free in the App Store. The store can be downloaded on your phone, or by opening up the store on iTunes. (Look for an article tomorrow morning detailing the features of the new app.)
