5 Things You Need To Know Today: April 12

Here is a list of things going on in and around Marlborough today.

1. It will be a bit cooler today — a high of 58 is predicted — with a slight chance of rain, and a pretty strong wind that will top off with gusts around 24mph. 

2. The began their celebration of National Library Week with a visit from author , and will continue through the remainder of the week by forgiving  fines for overdue materials returned by the end of business on Saturday, April 16. Previous fines will also be waived if users donate one non-perishable/ unexpired food or personal care item for each $1 in fines to benefit the . Lost item costs, Interlibrary Loan fines, Museum Pass fines, and replacement fees are excluded and cannot be waived. For more information call the Library at 508-624-6900 or 6902.

3. There will be a meeting of the City's Insurance Advisory Committee this morning at City Hall at 10 a.m. See the agenda here. There will be several other City meetings today. Check out the calendar on the Marlborough municipal website.

4. The Marlborough School Committee will have an executive session this evening at 7:30, but the meeting will open up to the public at 7:30 as usual. Here is the agenda. 

5. While it may be cloudy at times, today is "Look Up at the Sky Day." If it clears up this evening long enough to see the stars, click here to see what you'll see.
