Triboro Youth Hockey Receives Mike Cheever Hockey Grant

Mike Cheever Hockey Grant has enabled Triboro Youth Hockey to provide FREE instructional ice hockey games for new skaters who are interested in learning how to skate and play the game.

Triboro Youth Hockey is proud to announce that they have received the Mike Cheever Hockey Grant through the Boston Bruins foundation. This grant is awarded annually to Massachusetts youth hockey programs that develop innovative methods for growing ice hockey participation especially with youths.  Alan Gulachenski, a board member of Triboro youth hockey, applied for this year’s grant with the idea of being able to provide a low/no cost way for parents to introduce the game to their children.  The funds provided by this generous grant will enable Triboro Youth Hockey to provide FREE instructional ice hockey games for new skaters who are interested in learning how to skate and play the game.  Triboro has also worked with a local sporting goods retailer to provide a youth starter package of required hockey equipment for only $149.

The free program starts Sunday November 4th 2012 at 9:00am and occurs weekly for 12 weeks at the Navin Skating Rink in Marlboro.  Triboro will be accepting registrations online at www.triboro.org for the first  50 players who are new to the game of hockey and who have birth dates from 2005 to 2007 and reside in the Triboro towns of Marlboro, Southborough, and Westborough.  Other requirements are that each player will be required to register with USA hockey and will need other protective gear as detailed on our website.

Triboro youth hockey looks forward to a great season of hockey and encourages anybody who is interested in getting involved in hockey to check our website.  We are also very thankful to the Cheever Grant and the Boston Bruins foundation for enabling us to provide this program to the children in our community.
