Creating and Finding Vacation Fun!

No need to venture out of Marlborough to stay busy and have fun!

February vacation is upon us and school children across the nation are home enjoying a reprieve from long school days and tiresome homework. Having enjoyed one of the snowiest winters thus far in New England’s history, children are looking for activities that do not include making snowmen, building snow forts or partaking in snowball fights. Instead, they are looking for entertainment at home or on the road.

For moms and dads this means finding creative ways to keep the kids happy and occupied. Beyond board games, baking and books, arranging friend visits makes for a fun-filled afternoon. Popping popcorn and watching a movie, having a picnic lunch on the family room floor, or popping a tent in the basement for a “camp in” will keep kids occupied and make long lasting memories. Still, variety is the spice of life and sprinkling a few afternoon events into the week will give children something exciting to look forward to outside of the house and right here in Marlborough.

The Children’s Room is exploring Ancient Egypt this week. Here, families can find the following free drop-in activities aimed at peaking the children’s curiosity and tapping in to their creative side. Topping off the program is a family movie complete with snacks:
