Here is a list of things going on in and around Marlborough today.

2. The Friends of the will present the fourth program in a series of four in the “MetroWest Daily News/Marlborough Enterprise 2011 McConnell Author/Celebrity Series at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 18 in the Bigelow Auditorium. The special guest will be Harriet Reisen author of Louisa May Alcott--The Woman Behind Little Women. For more information, contact the . 

3. The Sudbury Valley Trustees Full Moon Paddle will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. this evening at Puffer Pond, Assabet National Wildlife Refuge, Sudbury. The SVT manage a large amount of property in Marlborough, and Puffer Pond is a peaceful spot to explore at the Assabet River. From red-winged blackbird and osprey sightings to distant slaps of beaver tails, there is always something for paddlers to see and hear. Puffer Pond is a fairly smooth and easy place to paddle. You will paddle around and explore the shoreline and far reaches of the pond. Paddle will be limited to eight boats and a minimum age of 10 years old (all children must be accompanied by an adult). Paddling experience preferred. If you have a canoe or kayak, please bring it. The refuge has a few canoes to loan out this evening. Registration required.
