100 Years Ago: The Marlborough Lodge of Elks is Formed
Six days a weeks (Mon—Sat) Marlborough Patch will highlight an interesting story from the Marlborough Daily Enterprise published on that date 100 years ago.
May 24, 1911: Marlboro Lodge of Elks Formed: Its Institution Witnessed by Many Out of Town Visitors Tuesday Evening
Under conditions which bespeak for the organization a long continued and successful existence, Marlboro Lodge of Elks was instituted Tuesday evening. About 100 members, including the leading business and professional men of the city, start with the charter list. The institution of the lodge was an event long to be remembered, not only by those fortunate enough to start as members of the organization, but also by the installing officers, also by the visiting members of the order.
