100 Years Ago: The First Baptist Church Gets a New Pastor

Six days a weeks Marlborough Patch will highlight an interesting story from the Marlborough Daily Enterprise published on that date 100 years ago.

Sept. 2, 1911: 

Unanimous Call Extended: Rev. Harlan J. Ballantine of Lincoln, Ill., to be Pastor of First Baptist Church

A unanimous call has been extended to Rev. Harlan J. Ballantine of Lincoln, Ill., to become the pastor of the First Baptist church of this city at the business meeting of the church Friday night.

Mr. Ballantine was born in Wilmetville, N.S., but came to this country when about three years of age. He received his early education in Californis, but became a student at the Brown University where he received his degrees of A.B and A.M. in 1898-1899.
