100 years Ago: Marlborough Boy Charged with Stealing $50 from Parents

Just about everyday Marlborough Patch will highlight an interesting story from the Marlborough Daily Enterprise published on that date 100 years ago.

Sept. 14, 1911: Arrested in No. Chelmsford: Charles Murphy Brought Home on Charge of Theft of Money from Parents

Charles Murphy, 16 years old son of Mr. and Mrs. David Murphy, Rice St., was brought from Lowell Wednesday by officer J.F. Connors on the charge of larceny of $50 from his parents. The police say that the alleged theft occurred three weeks ago and that the money was taken from a bureau. The boy is said to have traveled about considerably and to have spent all the money.
