100 Years Ago: Local Business Robbed; Eggs, Cookies Taken

Six days a weeks Marlborough Patch will highlight an interesting story from the Marlborough Daily Enterprise published on that date 100 years ago.

Sept. 1, 1911: Temple's Store Broken Into: Was Entered this Morning --- Burglars Frightened Away Before They Had Secured Much

An attempt to burglarize the grocery and bread store of O.G. Temple corner of Lincoln and Winthrop streets was made this Friday morning about 3:45 but the perpetrator was frightened away by quick action on the part of tenants of the block who got Officer J.E. Kennedy, patrolman on the beat.

As it was four cans of tomatoes a quantity of eggs and cookies, all of which were in the window, were taken.
