100 Years Ago: A Ghost Comes to Marlborough

July 8, 1911: Friends Believe Him a Ghost: Foley, Who Was Supposed to Have Perished in Messina Earthquake, in Town

Angelo Foley, who was supposed to have been swallowed up in the great earthquake in Messina three years ago, has returned to Marlboro alive and well. Foley formerly kept a shoe repairing business on Lincoln St. When he appeared on Lincoln St. his old acquaintances came near having heart failure. One man thought that it was a ghost of his old friend and when he saw him turning around the corner of the street fled in dismay.
