Save with advance ticket purchases

If you like to attend fairs and festivals with your family, this week's Frugal Family has some opportunities to save on admission. Also find out how to get a free doughnut on June 1 and find shoes on clearance at Marshalls.

1) Discounted tickets for Taste of Marlborough. The 5th Annual Taste of Marlborough and Brewfest will take place on June 11, 2012, 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. in Downtown Marlborough. Sample food and beer from many local restaurants and microbreweries and enjoy entertainment at 14 locations. From now until June 10th purchase tickets in advance and save. Advanced ticket prices include: Taste only: $ 20; ($15 for those over 62 or under 12); Taste & Brewfest: $ 30. Click here for a list of locations where you can purchase advance tickets. You can also order them online through Eventbrite, but keep in mind there is a surcharge.  Your purchase will support many local programs, including historical programs, Marlborough Downtown Village Assoc., Relay for Life and the Shawna Jean Larassa Memorial Scholarship Fund.

2) Discount tickets to the Bolton Fair. The 130th Bolton Fair will take place on August 10-12, 2012. It's an old fashioned fair with midway rides, animals, tractors, plus great food and entertainment for the whole family, right in nearby Bolton. Purchase your tickets online here before July 31 and get $3 off adult admission and midway wristbands, $2 off Senior admission, and $1 off child admission and military admission. If you wish, purchase a three day pass to enjoy the fair everyday! $15 for adults and $9 for kids. The Bolton Fairgrounds are located on Route 117 in Bolton. .

3) Free doughnut on June 1. In celebration of National Donut Day, is celebrating by offering a free doughnut with the purchase of any beverage on June 1. Offer good at participating stores while supplies last.

4) Seen on sale at in Marlborough. I saw quite a few cute styles on sale, many that can be worn right now.  My big find was ladies running spikes by Saucony for $10.  According to my daughter these are track spikes, so these will be good for those end-of-season meets or to stock up for next year.
