Mothers Day Deals and Savings Abound

Mothers Day is Sunday. Help your kids earn a few dollars with some extra household chores, and have them read this week's Frugal Family for some last minute gift ideas.

1. Stop and Shop has some great Mothers Day Gift items and some savings ideas too! Purchase gift cards at Stop and Shop and if you spend $25 or more you can get a free bunch of flowers for Mom. If you purchase three Expressions from Hallmark Greeting cards, get $5 off your next shopping trip at Stop and Shop. Offers are good April 29-May 12, 2011. See this week's flyer for details. 2. Kids! Take mom to the theater and save with this week’s Whofish Daily Catch!  This week find a Mother’s Day Special for the Wheelock Family Theatre. Purchase a voucher for admission to see “Alladin and the Wonderful Lamp" for $15, regularly $30 each. The voucher is good for the following performances: at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 6; 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7; and at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 8. After you purchase your voucher, contact the theater box office at 617-879-2300 and let them know that you purchased the voucher and which performance you would like to come to. 4. Mom, while dad and the kids are gaming at , take a moment to yourself and download one of the free e-book classics from Amazon.com. It may have been a while since you’ve had a quiet moment to read one of these gems, and with a free price-tag, it’s a deal that shouldn’t be missed. If you don’t have a Kindle, you can download a Kindle app from Amazon for most portable electronic devices or Windows.

6. It’s no secret: Great deals can be found at ! According to The Frugal Girls.com, if you use your CVS Extra Care card, coupons from the Sunday newspaper flyers, and this weeks CVS circular, you can find great deals and some items for free! This week there are great deals on Colgate toothpaste, Right Guard body wash or deodorant, Sobe Lifewater, and more! If you are a frequent shopper at CVS, you may have noticed that, when you use your CVS Extracare Card, the coupons generated at checkout relate to your past shopping habits. For example, if you purchase Vitamin B with a certain frequency, you may receive a coupon that you can use on your next vitamin purchase.
