Marlborough Officials Urge Caution with Sandy

City officials are urging caution as Hurricane Sandy approaches.

Area public schools have already canceled classes, but city officials are asking residents to continue using caution proceeding and during the storm.

"Fortunately the amount of rainfall we are on track to receive is not expected to cause any significant flooding," said Mayor Arthur Vigeant in a communication released Sunday night.

The city is still expected to face winds of up to 60 mph, he said. All residents are urged to take precautions such as ensuring that all outdoor furniture, trash bins, and other items are brought indoors.

 If you notice downed power lines, keep as far away from them as possible and immediately report this to the Marlborough Police Department at 508-485-1212, said Mayor Vigeant. In the event of emergency, call 911.
