Join the Party, Buy a Plot

Get a plot in Marlborough's first community garden, attend the biggest birthday party in Worcester, and find bowling deals.

1) Cider Knoll Community Garden: Reserve your plot at Marlborough’s first community garden at a Thursday, March 29, at . Learn about the garden and how you can help set up the plots. The cost for each 10-foot by 20-foot plot $25. The plan is to have about 25 plots and they are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The garden will be located at the , located on Stow Road. Since this is the garden’s first year of operation, there is a lot of work to do, but this is a great opportunity to be involved in a great community asset. Growing your own vegetables and flowers is a great way to save money. It’s also a great way to teach your kids where their food comes from, and it supports the city’s goal to be a more sustainable community. 2) Birthday Wishes Event in Worcester: Birthday Wishes is holding Worcester’s Biggest Birthday Party on March 31. This free event will be held 1 to 4 p.m. at Coral Seafood, 225 Shrewsbury St., Worcester. Your family can enjoy games, cake, ice cream, music, crafts, raffles, face-painting and more. Donations of juice boxes are appreciated.

3) Bowling deals at AMF Town and Country Lanes in Shrewsbury: Looking for a fun after-school activity? Take your kids bowling at AMF Town and Country Lanes.  On weekdays from 2 to 5 p.m., get unlimited bowling and shoe rental with the After Class Pack. The cost is $5 for kids and $10 for adults. The offer is not valid on holidays or school vacation weeks. Unlimited bowling on Sunday mornings (9 a.m. to noon) is $10 and includes shoe rental. Kids 15 and under can bowl free during the summer. Starting April 1, register up to six kids at www.freebowling@amf.com and your kids get two free games per day.  Also for the summer, bowlers ages 16 and up can take advantage of the AMF Summer Pass: four bowlers can bowl all summer for $29.99.
