5 Things to go Under Marlborough's Christmas Tree

Here is a list of things Marlborough could use under its Christmas tree this year.

Every city and town in the Commonwealth has a wish list each year of the projects that need finishing and unrealized plans that will improve quality of life. Marlborough is no different, with many projects in the works and others coming up the pipeline.

1. New Senior Center. This project has been in the works for some time now, but in recent months we've seen options explored for a a new facility, and details discussed at City Hall and in the media.

2. Additional resources for the Fire Department. Many believe that residents and property alike have been put at risk this year when budget shortfalls necessitated the closure of one of the city's fire stations. The mayor-elect has said addressing this problem will a priority in his new administration.

3. A review of traffic patterns/laws. Recently Marlborough Patch asked readers to give their input concerning dangerous intersections in the city. It will be great for city government to take a look at some of the greatest offenders in 2012 and try to make our roads a little safer.

4. One reader recently suggested that Marlborough could use some road paving equipment. A reference that, we are sure, is meant to express discontent with the current state of the city's roadways.
