New Daycare Early Ed Center Opens near Mall

Parents in Marlborough and surrounding communities have a new option for daycare with the opening of Massachusetts’s first Growing Room Child Development Center.

The newly constructed 12,000 square-foot center is located in Berlin close to the Solomon Pond Mall and will deliver high quality care and education for up to 185 children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.

“I am most excited to bring a Growing Room Child Development Center to serve families in Berlin and the surrounding communities in Central Massachusetts,” said Doiron,  owner of the Berlin center. “It has been a longtime dream of mine to be able to offer a top quality childcare program in this area.”

Growing Room offers a developmentally appropriate curriculum called, Growing Up on Our Block.  It is a language based curriculum created by Jennifer Carpenter, MA, the company’s curriculum designer and Vice President of Early Childhood Education.  Engaging children’s bodies and minds in play-based curricular activities, Growing Up on Our Block gives children an enriching educational program filled with language, phonics, reading, writing, and hands-on math and science experiences.

Designed from the ground up with every child and parent in mind, the center boasts an inviting décor with a road winding all the way through it. The children will feel “at home” as they attend school each day. This creates a “real” view of the world as they visit their friends in the Pet Shop, the Bakery or even the Grocery Store. The center’s state-of-the-art classrooms are staffed by degreed and certified teachers who make Growing Room the most enriching place for young children to learn and grow. Senior Director Laura Gordon says, “it is so rewarding to be at the helm of a school that is so innovative and in touch with the way children learn.”

The center is equipped with video security and safe, solid rubber playground surfacing. The center’s in-house kitchen prepares healthy breakfasts and lunches daily for students. Growing Room Berlin will also provide a continental breakfast in the parent room every morning so parents can sit and enjoy the first meal of the day while watching their child’s room on a closed circuit television monitor or take breakfast to go for the road.

Growing Room Berlin will also offer before and after school care for elementary aged children, drop-in care on school vacations, and an exciting summer program.  The center is located at 71 River Road West in Berlin, Mass., close to the Solomon Pond Mall.
